8/30/04 A resident reported that they and their family were being harassed by another family. A report was filed and both families were spoken to. 8/30/04 A VPD Officer responded to the Birkenfeld Store to assist Clatsop County Sheriff's office on a traffic stop of a suspected burglar. Two subjects were arrested by deputies. 8/30/04 An officer assisted a motorist who became stranded in Vernonia with car problems. 8/30/04 An officer assisted Clatsop County Deputies in serving a search warrant at a residence near the Vernonia Golf Course. A large amount of marijuana plants, growing equipment, packaging products, and a scale were seized. Clatsop County made no arrests at this time. 8/30/04 A resident reported an Animal Abuse after the family cat sustained an injury from what is believed to be a pellet gun wound. 8/31/04 There was a report of a family Disturbance at Airport Park. No action was taken after a family member decided to leave the area. 9/2/04 A resident reported a Criminal Mischief to a telephone box on the residence. 9/2/04 An officer towed a vehicle after citing a 17yr old Vernonia male for traffic violations, including driving without a license. 9/3/04 A resident was cleaning a rental house and found an older handgun. The gun was not stolen and was placed into evidence until the owner can be contacted. 9/4/04 A report was taken with regard to a family referral in Vernonia. The report was referred to Children & Family Services. 9/5/04 A welfare check was done on a Vernonia resident. No action could be taken at this time but a referral was made to mental health. 9/7/04 A report was filed after a yard was found to be littered with garbage. 9/8/04 A resident reported the theft of a cellular phone from Vernonia High School.
