11/30/04 A resident reported a trespassing and theft at their residence on "A" Street. 11/30/04 A report was taken regarding a nuisance violation (junk vehicle) on Rose Ave. The resident removed the vehicle in accordance with the ordinance. 11/30/04 Are assisting the Longview, WA Police after officers had contact with a male subject in possession of a stolen vehicle. A Vernonia resident reported a suspicious male subject in the area of Grant Ave. and North St. Officers questioned the man but both he and the vehicle were clear of warrants. Five hours later the vehicle the man was driving was reported stolen. The case has been submitted to the DA and Washington authorities. 12/3/04 Arrested Shawn Hartman, 32, of Vernonia for DUII and Reckless Driving. Hartman was later cited and released to a relative. 12/5/04 Assisted St. Helens Police by arresting Amanda McCartney, 24, of Vernonia for Fraud and Theft. McCartney is suspected of multiple cases of identity theft, fraud, and manufacturing false driver's licenses. McCartney was taken to the Columbia County Jail and the incidents are still under investigation. 12/7/04 Officers took a report of a possible Child Neglect/Abuse on Alabama Ave. All parties were interviewed and the case was referred to Family Services. 12/13/04 A resident reported that an unknown person entered their house and took a bottle of prescription medication.
