Through several donations and with supplemental funds from the Vernonia Police budget, Officer Krueger is now sporting a new ballistic vest. The vest, which came from Canada, cost just under $1,900 and was specially fitted just for Krueger. The vest will help protect him if he were to be shot with a firearm, stabbed, or struck but other objects. The vest also has special handles and harnesses attached to allow Officer Kay to lift Krueger over obstacles or into windows. Kreuger could also be deployed from a helecopter via the vest.
