Every 15-Minutes
During Alcohol Awareness Week at Vernonia High School the OSSOM put on a unique program
called Every 15-minutes. During one school day the "Grim Reaper" wandered the halls randomly
picking students out of class to be "dead" from an alcohol-related crash. The students had their
faces painted white and were considered dead. At the end of the day during an assembly it was
all of the "dead" students were lined up. Around 25 students were lined up to show how many
"died" from alcohol-related crashes. This was a very graphic example of how dangerous alcohol
and driving can be.
