VPD Purchases ATV's |
The Vernonia Police Department recently enhanced its patrol abilities by purchasing three ATV's from the Fairview Police Department. Through a special arrangement with Fairview Police Chief Ken Johnson, Chief Workman was able to purchase the three 1987 Honda 3-wheel ATV's for $480 total, for all three. The three ATV's have only 24 use-hours on each one and are in perfect shape. The ATV's will be used to enhance patrols the Vernonia-Banks Linear Trail as well as aid in searches of the trail and old Mill property areas. The ATV's will also be used during special events to reach areas where automobile traffic is limited. Officers recently used the ATV's during Cycle Oregon to patrol the tent city and other areas. |
